Cruddas Park Early Years Centre is a maintained nursery school, funded by Newcastle Local Authority. We have provision for nursery children, aged 3 to 4 - this is known as Foundation Stage 2. We also have pre-nursery provision for children who are or will be 3 in the school term in which their third birthday falls (Rising 3's). We also have a Playgroup for children between the age of 2 - 3 year olds.
We offer the 15 hours entitlement of free nursery education for both our nursery and pre-nursery aged children over 3 full days, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The day starts at 9.15am and ends at 2.45pm, with lunch served in two sittings at 11.45 and 12.30pm.
The Playgroup runs from Monday to Friday, between 9.15am and 12.15pm. There is a cost attached to Playgroup, however your child may be entitled to a free government funded place, dependent on your situation. Please enquire at Reception for details, and find out if you are entitled to a free place.
Our experienced team of practitioners are passionate about early years education and committed to our nursery and it’s aims and shared values. They are extremely knowledgeable about how young children learn and develop, and provide a well resourced and thoughtfully planned, stimulating learning environment to meet the needs of the children in their care and ensure every child develops a lively, enquiring mind and love of learning.
At the heart of our philosophy is a fundamental respect for the early years of a child’s life. Nursery is often your child’s first experience away from home and their family life. It is therefore essential that the learning opportunities and experiences we provide for them, and the relationships they make, are of the highest quality and create strong and lasting foundations on which to build in later life.
Our rich and varied curriculum supports a child-centered approach to learning, which follows and extends children’s own interests and promotes active and meaningful learning and purposeful play, with a commitment to a healthy lifestyle and teaching children to love and respect their world.
